Introduction

I'm Gourav Barik, a fullstack web developer who likes the parts of the job that sit at the seams — where the database schema, the service, and the interface have to agree with each other.

Most of what I build ends up being fullstack out of necessity rather than ambition: a Go service behind a Next.js app, a scraper feeding a cache, an admin surface nobody sees but me. I care about the boring parts — migrations, deploys, the shape of an error — because they are what decide whether a project is still alive in six months.

On the front of it, I spend a disproportionate amount of time on motion and interaction detail. Not decoration — the kind that tells you where you just came from and what is about to happen.
